Appleton Corporation to manage Union Station

The Springfield Redevelopment Authority has selected O’Connell subsidiary Appleton Corporation to manage day-to-day operations at Union Station when it reopens in late June 2017. The city expects 15,000 to 17,000 people a day to pass through Union Station, its bus berths and parking garage.

Union Station, built 91 years ago, closed in 1973. Its $94 million renovation was 40 years in the making. The grand reopening weekend is set for June 23, 24 and 25.

Construction company, Daniel O’Connell’s Sons, which served as general contractor on the Union Station redevelopment project, is also part of the O’Connell Companies.
